ABOUT ME

I am a History teacher and passionate about both the subject and the wider profession of teaching and education. The teaching vocation is one of the most important that one can pursue, this is the driving push that gets me into the classroom each morning. Inspiring students by blending the best of new and old methods in the classroom, challenging complacency and pushing independence of thought are some of the most vital elements of my practice.

I fully support UK efforts to regulate teaching, further recognise excellence in the profession and give it the place and respect it deserves.

I began teaching in 2007 having completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Cardiff and teacher training at Bath and recently completed a Master's at the University of Cambridge. I have been lucky enough to teach in a broad range of schools, maintained, independent - both day and boarding - and in that time have sought to improve my teaching and the learning experiences of my students. At the same time I have mentored new teachers through their initial teaching years, supervising classroom based further reaserch on a wide range of educational matters.
